No one left to build the houses; empty job sites. No need for lumber from anywhere.
Soft wood prices have been adjudicated many times in the international court and Canada have always won.
Canada - proud, strong and forever free - NEVER #51! 🍁 🇨🇦
Lumber companies want to blame Canada but a lot of Us logs from the west coast never get turned into lumber (90-95% in some states) go to ports and directly to East Asia. Much of the timber from federal land costs the government more to administer than they get for the timber, while the companies selling the logs make huge profits from skipping mills or making finished products. Workers, tax payers and the environment get shafted! Go figure!!
The other issue affecting lumber is the fact that so many job sites are now empty of workers. If you can’t build, you don’t need number.
Canadian lumber is frequently viewed as the better option for construction due to its superior quality; longer growth periods and tighter growth rings. This quality advantage is particularly significant where it concerns housing starts in the United States - it is preferential. Whereas the US will have to start cutting down their National Forests, and still not getting the quality - that is sad. Add to that the loss of workforce how well will this go? Sounds to me like the prices of homes will rise considerably in the US.
Stay positive Canada! We love you ..UK👌
🇨🇦here. GOOD! Weyerhaeuser did a hostile take over of the company I worked for and sold half of it off and close down my mill and sold it for parts. Kept the deep sea dock to export our forests to the USA. I hope it goes under.🇨🇦
Im sticking with Mark Carney's business knowhow! I love to see my country gearing up for a booming economy. And i love alot of his policies. And how he works in a calm and gentleman fashion. I love how he's including our indigenous citizens so they too feel more inclusive on their own lands to prosper and move their own communities forward! VIVA LA CANADA!🙏❤️🇨🇦
