The $250 tourist fee was not the main reason for low tourism. This was just the last straw. Canadians and other visitors feel alienated and not safe in the US.
It absolutely makes no sense as a European to pay $250 for visting hostile America, when you can also visit Canada.
As a Canadian, I have travelled to the US every year for the last 20 years spending roughly $5000 each year. For the first time ever, I have booked a motorcycle tour through Germany, France, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria, Italy and San Marino. Total cost over $20,000. No plans to ever go back to the US.
The world is turning away from the American nightmare.
It didn't start with the $250 fee it started with the unlawful detainment of tourists.
Why on earth would you go to a FASCIST state?
This Canadian wouldn't go if the US paid me $250 and my transportation.
As an American, I think it's hilarious. Tourist have other options. And probably safer for their children, that's for damn sure.
Let's see. 250$ for a visa for ANY visitors, customs bullying, unjustified ICE detentions, annexation threats, unjustified tariffs. What's the advantage to visit America when the whole wide world is available?
CANADA IS THE PLACE TO GO PEOPLE SO LOVELY❤
America got what they voted for. 😅
The drop in tourism is not solely because of ridiculously overpriced visas. The entire world sees what is going on in this country and are understandably reluctant to choose America as its vacation destination. We have angered every nation with our tariff policies, lost the world's respect as they watch our buffoon government, and scared off international visitors with the violent behavior of the masked ICE thugs. If you could have your pick of holidaying anywhere in the world, would you pick the USA?
