I used to live on the central coast (right south of Paso), right near the crash site. I've actually driven by it 100s of times and it's STILL a super dangerous part of the highway out there. There's one lane going each way, but at that specific spot, there are 3 roads that come into the one lane each way. Many, many, many bad accidents happen out there - including one I was in after hitting black ice. It's honestly just a creepy road in general out there.
80 mph in a super thick fog that’s a Darwin Award winner.
If you catch Mariska Hargitay at just the right angle in older episodes of SVU, you can very easily tell that she's Jayne Mansfield's daughter. Mariska was actually in the car crash that killed her mother, but was laid across the backseat asleep.
The ICC bumper became mandatory on trailers after Mansfield crash, but if they hadn't been going nearly 100 mph in fog no need for gaurds. I also fix trailers damaged by hitting those gaurds, and people still die from it on occasion. slow down people.
Jayne Mansfield's daughter Mariska Hargitay was in the back seat. Mariska is mostly known as playing the role of Olivia Benson in Law & Order SVU. Her dad was a former Mr Universe, Mickey Hargitay.
it wasn’t a ‘design flaw’, it was due to speeding. smh
Lady Di, Paul Walker, James Dean, Anne Heche, Jayne Mansfield, so many more...
Every time a celebrity dies in an accident, it is "shrouded in mystery". A testament to the fools of our world.
Bill Hickman was a close friend of Dean’s. He was behind him when Dean crashed. Hickman went on to be the bad guy driver in “Bullitt” and “The Seven Ups.”
I still feel so badly about Paul Walker. His death hit me hard. So young, so sad.
If you talk to the ppl that knew him in the little town of Fairmount, Indiana James Dean was a hell raiser
